broken tears in a deserted oasis

a mirage in the mind is where I dwell
hidden, forgotten, plainly in hell
to cry these broken tears
as your memry haunts my years
and your eyes are all I find
bringing dreams from my mind
of a life I left behind

I'm living in a deserted oasis now
with no way out that I could see how
grasses dead all around
never moving or making a sound
just silence as far as I can see
the silence your departure made in me
when I got left behind

a touch, a kiss, a soft embrace
a smile, a laugh, the feel of your face
since you left my world pulled in
couple sizes shorter to pull the skin
and an empty hole inside my chest
that traps broken tears to test
in the world I left behind

its the broken tears in a deserted oasis
from which my life has made it's basis
in the dark and light what can I tell
the desperation there creates this hell
but you never know the trouble you make
when the slightest word makes my heart break
in the world you left me
