What makes a dream become much more,
when night time opens hidden doors?

Why shall we dream of unknown love,
is such a portent from above?

Or dream of friends from long ago
to wake and once more miss them so.

These ones will often come at night
to true appear in next days' light.

Why dream of other places, times
and feel belonging-a true sign?

What makes a dream more than a wish
or more than memories last kiss?

Where does night end and day begin
and are the shadows more than friends?

To live in worlds beyond our lives; to do the things we never can or will while awake; to love beyond the bounds of all reality, of all understanding; to awake in wonder and awe that such a thing could exist...my dreams, yours, the worlds, even when fearful, or angered...freely give us a life to live with no consequences, no rewards, unfettered by anything...truly God's gift to the living.

Well written my friend.

GentleSpirit~
Dreams .... they've been mystifying us for the ages.

How treasured they come to lay
beside my heart in times of slumber~

This is such a reaching piece~
Thank you.

It's all an ongoing series of lessons...  (and we thought we were done with "school" by the time we graduate from high school/college...).  Now the question remains:  how shall we apply those lessons?  Then there's the following concepts to ponder:  data, knowledge, and Wisdom.  Data being simply loose information;  knowledge being the understanding of how to use the data;  Wisdom being the insight of when not to...

"Only in their dreams
can men be truly free"

I agree with all that was said here by others ........ we dream.. we learn ....we work to achieve our dreams .....we feel free in our dreams where we go to where our steps can never go.......

So.....
Let me dream
Let me dream.......

Sandra......And from one dreamer to another you have said it so beautifully...

Thank you

Sandra,
This is so beautiful!  You have said it all right here. Our dreams are there to comfort us, to hold us in their arms, and to instill in us that we are alive and more than ready to experience the beauty they can bring to us.  So as always, we must "Keep The Dream Alive". They do come true...

Well...I believe we can tell a lot from our dreams, and your poem was very mind opening, ss there is a lot to be learned from our subconscience when sleeping.  I write them down in the morning can you believe that?
