Walking the sands of time,
mountains yet still to climb.
Rearing up the pathways go
winding high and winding low.
Peaks of accomplishments, then back down.
into valleys of despair profound.

Footsteps are not able to stop,
even when reaching the peaceful top.
Though trying to stop and rest awhile,
they continually lead on another mile.
Portals beckon, some wide, some thin,
when passing though time over again.

As the wolf that glides in the night
to some is presented a distant fright.
Others who know, and have a feel,
know the wolf is not to harm and very real.
Stopping to listen, then moving on,
a lonely cry sounds, singing his song.

Sometimes weary, sometimes sad,
yet always trying to feel glad.
Reaching deep as continue to trod,
walking along many a rod.
Where does it end, this road I keep,
maybe never for what I seek.

Ah, the road shall never end my gentle friend.  For it continues from one life into the next, forever evolving.  The wolf seeks just as we do.  Always searching for peace and purpose in life.  I really like this one.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

I'd like to walk a ways with you, Logan...maybe stop for a while to ponder on direction.  I will look for your gentle smile.

Oh, Guardian~

It is not the toil
not the miles
But the gentleness
of your smile

That keeps you steady
on your goal
Finding hearts
making them whole

In giving smiles
you are aware
They are returned
for you to wear

Steady onward
the course is steep
But you've many more
hearts to keep

Tending fires
enlightening souls
You've much further
yet to go

Rest a while
then steady your way
You've touched another
heart this day

Smile your *gentle smile*
for you are loved so much
The fire glows brighter
with your caring touch

Much love and understanding~

The thoughtful, generous replies are as good as the poem itself.  The spiral is indeed there, and the way is up.

The many portals will open, and the Wolf is but a messenger.

It is up to us to stop and listen.

I do like all of the analogies.  Thank you for this, Sir!

The birth of today washes my spirit clean
As yesterday's oblivion is now visibly seen
Tomorrow's peace flows in thundering falls
Through treasures of nature as she calls

Hope you don't mind but that is how this one struck me and sometimes I just sort of go off on a twist.  This was a very wonderful read as all I have read of yours are but more than that I truely enjoy the expression of thought and vision in your works.  Well done and of course the flow of the entire piece was superb.

This is at least my third time around, and I'm running out of thoughts for your work. I can sit here and be amazed at your depth and thoughts in what you write. Thats all I can do, Sweet One. Sorry I haven't been around as much. I'm reading though.

This was a really good read with some wonderfully deep thoughts. The following lines have a bit of redundancy in them though, the word 'know' in such close proximity seems to weaken the piece, I think.  Just a little tweaking here, would help a lot, don't you think?
