A Man Can

A man can catch a
fading star in his eye
And set it loose with
Twist of tongue(twist of lime)
For a fellow dreamer
drinking life between bites
dried salt on pretzels

A young man can cry over
a fading star not fading
anymore, within a bittersweet
galaxy a young man waits
for the next fading star
to pass him over
and over

A Jesus of the carnival
will laugh about our
fading star, he's seen so many
in the lifetimes he's lives in
with his brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers
thieves, whores, liars, friends and apostles
all who are the fading stars (their own)

it's a blink in the eye to capture
an ownership of a forgotten star

But who really cares about someone else's star?

"and Death i think is no paranthesis"-e.e. cummings

Wow, that last line hit me hard.  I really liked this one, Foz.  Very thought provoking piece... I read through it a few times, and found myself having to sit back and think about it.  Nice work.. I really enjoyed it.  Looking forward to the next... keep posting!
