Anger he smiles, towering in shiny metallic Purple armour
Queen Jealousy, envy waits behind him
Her fiery Green gown sneers at the grassy ground

Blue are the life-giving waters taken for granted,
They quietly understand
Once happy Turquoise armies lay opposite of ready,
But wonder why the fight is on...
Red is so confident that he flashes trophies of war and ribbons of euphoria.

Orange is young, full of daring,
But very unsteady for the first go round
Yellow in this case is not so mellow
In fact I'm trying to say it's frightened like me
Black is the cage of depression that envelopes my mind and guides it into dark, untread islands.

And all these emotions of mine keep holding me from
Giving my life to a rainbow like you
If these colors were bolder, if my emotions were stronger
Could I be a rainbow like you?

If there's a such thing as a Genius, then I'm one. If there's no such thing then I don't care...  ~John Lennon

I'm beginning to get a bit irritated at my fellow PIPers. Such wonderful poetry is being ignored. I thought this was very well done! I agree w/ Chasing Rain...The personification of the colors was awesome. Loved it. Thanks for the read.

I liked the poem, but the ending was the masterpiece for me. I really really liked it. Very well done

Thanx, alot of times our poems take a back seat to one "JBaker" but with good reason I suppose...

I thought this was awesome.  I LOVED the association of the colors... Very nicely done.  I enjoyed this.
