The Sun has Gone Down
© 2002 Brian Eggertsen, All Rights Reserved

When you left it felt like
I'd painted myself into a corner,
While running down the street
I Felt naked and stripped of my honor.
With sad teary eyes and
A shattered heart I just fell to the ground,
You were my shining sun
But now the sun....Has gone down...

Now guilt is pouring down
And this empty room makes me so restless,
Think of our pillow fights
But it's not the same wrestling with sadness.
And by the piano
The most beautiful melody we found,
You were my shining sun
But now the sun....Has gone down....

I will play this song for the world...to see,
Just how much you really mean to me.
'Cause you were that stranger to leave a trace,
It was you who left a smile on my face.
Rising 'bove the skyline of my heart's town,
You were my shining sun,
But now the sun....Has gone down.

Laying in bed at night
With cold old sheets wrapped around my body,
Where your arms would've been
But now that's nothing but a memory...

I will play this song for the world...to see,
Just how much you really mean to me.
'Cause you were that stranger to leave a trace,
It was you who left a smile on my face.
Rising 'bove the skyline of my heart's town,
You were my shining sun,
But now the sun....Has gone down.

Ohh...this is so sad....

But your song lyrics are always so well done. You are very talented.

You look inside my wild mind
never knowing what you'll find
still I want you all the time
yeah I do
'cause you get me

Your meaningful sentences hit the spot. You discribe everything in depth. Maybe you can help me with mine (LIFE) and some more that I will post up later?

Very poignant. Especially:

"Laying in bed at night
With cold old sheets wrapped around my body,
Where your arms would've been
But now that's nothing but a memory..."

That gives a great visual image. I'm sure most of us can relate to this, and for those of us that can, I'm sure it evokes something personal in all of us. Good job
