I left that night,
Dressed for comfort,
I bidded my parents bye,
I was off to see friends.

Going over the overpass,
In my '93 Saturn,
I was changing my radio station,
When I looked up,
I saw bright lights of a truck,
Coming head on.

Next I felt utter pain,
And the coldness of metal,
I was chilled in wetness,
Through the racking of my mind,
I was crushed in metal.

Screams rang the air,
The driver in the other truck,
Awhile later I heard sirens,
The crys had died off.

I looked to see men,
Tearing at the metal,
Of my car,
To get me out.

When I was freed,
A firefighter lifted me,
In his arms and laid me on,
The road.

Chilled in wetness,
I discovered my blood,
The man's voice became distant,
As his eyes filled with tears and he said,
"Find out who this kid is, she is gone, call her parents".

Why did I die?
I have much to live for yet,
Please tell my parents and friends,
I love them,
Since I did not take the chance.

Interesting and makes us all think.
I read something similar to this once in another publication, only the driver was drunk. Sad really...

Welcome to passions.

Jenn

Why is it that we are at our most ingenius only when trying to destroy the things that keep us alive and thriving?
