In an upside-down garden

Spent the day with you yesterday,
did all the things I dream about,
except for one.

We hung out on the porch swing,
you let me rest my head on your shoulder,
while you rocked us back and forth.

We drank apple juice,
which Andrew spilled on you,
and had an apple juice fight.

Then you helped me and Donna,
while we finished her chores,
so we could all go swimming together.

You, Andrew, AJ, and Ronald left before us,
because we still had to wash the windows,
and her father didn't want you to help us.

We met up with you at the pool,
and I stood in line with you at the snack bar during break,
where you bought a snickers bar.

When break was over we went back into the pool,
and you swam with me and we had fun,
it was like everytime I turned around, there you were.

You picked me up and threw me,
and dunked me in the water for a while,
and we both just laughed our heads off.

Then Donna had to leave,
so AJ and I were gonna go to,
and I came to say goodbye.

I hugged you and told you I had fun,
then I hugged Andrew and told him I had fun messing around with him,
and you were like "When did this happen?".

You were sure you had been by me,
every single second that I was there,
and you hadn't seen Andrew anywhere.

I laughed and told you this,
"see what you miss when you close your eyes",
the turned and walked away with AJ.

I hope you don't mind that me and him are friends,
and that I rubbed sunblock on his back at the pool,
because you wouldn't look at me for a few minutes.

I hope you don't mind that I don't like him,
I like you and only you,
and that the lotion thing was just so he didn't get burned.

If you would've asked,
I would've rubbed suntain lotion on you too,
I would've done that gladly.

And when I was getting ready to leave,
and I was hugging you,
I ALMOST kissed you on the cheek.

But I didn't,
and I know why,
it's because I'm scared.

AJ and I ran to catch up with Donna,
him in flipflops,
me trying not to loose my towel.

And when we got back home,
I rubbed more lotion on his back,
the whole time wishing that he was you.

You, Andrew, and Ronald weren't supposed to come back till seven,
but you knew I had to leave at five,
and no matter what you say I know that's why you came back at four thirty.

I had the best day of my life yesterday,
I knew that while I was having it that it was the best day of my life,
because I was spending every second of it with you.

(For Justin!)

This was completely sweet Allysa. Wow.....very sweetly done here. I enjoyed this a lot!

This was a great one Allysa. I like the casual feel of it, giving the names as if it were a story already half-told.

Keep it up

Almost?!?! You didn't?! ARGH! Take the bull by the horns and show him who's the man! lol

The way you told the story was really well done. Too bad about the situation though. You've got to lose that shyness if you want anything to happen.
Good luck with him.

I am too shy.  UGHH!    I've never been shy before, I don't know why it had to start now.  And he's the only one who can make me blush too!     I gave him a black notebook full of poems that I wrote for him and I was talking to him on the phone one day and he was cleaning his secret hiding place or something (which is a cupboard in the kitchen??) and he came across that notebook.  He just started to read the titles of the poems and I started to blush soooooo bad and I told him so.   And i told him to stop because it was making me blush, but he wouldn't, so I hung up on him and he got a little bit mad.  but it was funny.
