What the holiday season is really about

During the holiday season everyone is worried about what they are going to get,
But is that what this time of year is all about?

I see all my friends making their lists and buying gifts,
Not thinking about the people who won't get anything at all.

To me this time of year is about appreciating what I have,
And not about who is going to give me what.

I'm thankful to be alive and that is better then any gift anyone could ever give me,
But a lot of people take their lives for granit.

Instead of people worrying about themselves,
I wish they could help the people who have nothing.

Because to the people who have nothing anything they get is special to them,
No matter where it's from or how much it cost.

Who knows maybe someday people will figure out that it's better to give then recieve,
And that the stuff they really want is not what they really need.

But until then I'm still going to stay the same,
And tell people to not give me anything and donate something to someone in need instead.

You seem to have a beautiful heart
it's always good t give something to the less fortunate
I just believe this should be all year round
But thinking of christmas this way is a start

Beautiful lauren.
it's so sad when you get all these people that don't donate anything to the needy.
I ALWAYS donate to the charities at Christmas time. Why should we have something when they have nothing?
