One day I went to the store
looking for the perfect cake.
Looking up and down the aisles,
this cake was not to be found.

I get the feeling it's not about cake.  It's such a universal idea.  Not finding perfection, no matter how hard you look for it.  It's true in cakes, love, people, nature, etc.  But the truth is, you can really find perfection easily when you don't look for it.  At least that's true in my experience.  Great simple verse.

No angels in heaven nor demons below the sea, could ever dissever my soul from the soul of the beautiful Annabel Lee

Welcome to Passions.  I too am confused, but oh well.  You'd think Little Debby would have plenty of cake, but oh well.  But the above reply does make sence if this is what you are really trying to say.

I really found this to be a deep metaphore for, like elvenblood said, some search for happiness or the like........
Anyhow, nicely done. I truly enjoyed this and look forward to more.

Many different things can be gathered from this poem.  I interpretted this as a very deep analogy.  I really enjoyed this.  Welcome to passiosn... I look forward to reading more.

I love cake! but yeah, you can see it as a metaphor. But still, it's cute!

Welcome to Passions!  This was an excellent first post.  I liked the metaphor you used - it shows hoe life fails to complete perfection for many of us however hard you look.  Keep writing.

Welcome to Passions!!

As small as this is, I found this to be quite an excellent piece of writing. Something so small and insignificant like a cake can serve to be a great tool of expansion for the mind.

Well done on a great first post. I look forward to seeing your many replies and posts in this place.

I wonder if there'll be a sequel or part 2?  I think cake is the best when you make it yourself.  Universally speaking that is

I'm really sorry I missed this one! Welcome to Passions, and that was so refreshingly cute! I don't know if there was a deeper meaning, but either way I liked it! Hope to see more!
