I'm back! Sorry about not posting or replying for a while, but my computer woulden't log in to the site for some reason. What can I say, it's junk. I'll try to be more active again. Well, hope you like my poem, it's a little different from my other work, isn't it? Hope you like it!

I thought that I would wait forever,
that I would get over you never.
But time goes on,
LIFE goes on.

I thought that you were my destiny,
that your love would complete the rest of me.
But people grow and find love in odd places,
in people close they find hidden feelings in their faces.

For a long time I thought you loved me,
that it was more than just a fantasy.
More it may very well be,
but now your love is no longer received in me.

My heart has moved on to the future,
leaving dreams of us in the past.
She came to me, broken and wounded,
I found I loved her and thus concluded,

That I was finally over you,
I hope now you are over me too.
If we will wind up together who knows,
but I'm not waiting, I go where the wind blows.

I wish you luck with Rudy, that's him,
'cause I can't love you again at a whim.
And if you remind me I said I'd wait forever,
I'll say my heart couldn't survive being loved never.

And if you say that's not forever, it's limited days,
i will only have one thing to you to say:

Forever's over.

Very nice poem

I like it very much because i have had similar emotions somewhat recently.

This is great. You once wrote in a reply to a poem of mine, "I've been there before" and well I thought I'd share with you. I've been here. Actually I'm here lol. Forever's hard to let go of. But I'm so happy that you now can let forever go. congrats and great poem. It's definately goin in the library!

Yea, I'm finnaly over the previous topic of all my other poems. I don't know why you are upset though, I'm GLAD I'm over her, I couldn't have lived like that much longer. I'm glad you all liked it anyway, and am sorry that you must have gone thru what I've gone thru. But I guess we all go thru it. I'll try and be on to reply more often.

wow...im glad you're getting on with your life there rich, i know a friend who's finding it hard to let go of his ex....and i think this poem might just help him see that things are final when a couple do decide to break up and start seeing other ppl. very well done on the poem there rich, thanks for sharing
