Was going thru my archives and found this...Looked and saw some of the names I had originally used, and kinda scared myself. This was originally written when I was engaged to Andrew, in fact, we were supposed to have been getting married Wenesday, July 4th, 2001. But something came up, because of the distance, and military life(he cheated on me with some girl named "Gin-Ger" I wen thru and Changed the names, to be more appropriate... Oh, and No, WIll and I aren't getting married, we are taking this one day at a tyme...so here goes:

Daddy’s Little Girl

Its not easy being “Daddy’s little girl”,
In a teenage world.

“Daddy, theres a guy outside, His name is Michael,
He wants to know if I can go for a ride.
Can I daddy?  Please, just this once let me slide.”

I just stand there and smile,
And he just stares for a while.

“Daddy, theres a guy outside, his name is Ricky,
He wants to know if we can go on a date,
Daddy, hes waiting, I'm gonna be late.”

I'm growing up in a teenage world,
It’s not easy when it’s going by in a whirl.

"Daddy, theres a guy outside, his name is Andrew,
He wants to know if we can go steady,
Please Daddy, I think I'm ready.”

So many things chance in a teenager’s life,
And adults wonder why they cause such strife!

“Daddy, theres a guy outside, his name is Justin,
He wants to know if I can go for a walk,
He says we really have to talk.”

What is a teenager to do?
When she has no where to go, no one to talk to?

"Daddy, theres a guy outside, his name is Willy,
He wants to know if I’ll marry him,
I said yes, Daddy, I’m not blowing in the wind”

I know I'm young, a mere teen,
But this is the strongest love I've ever seen.

Note: Michael was my first boyfriend, Ricky (the guy what was here for awhile)was my "first love", Andrew was the guy I was supposed to marry in a few short days, most of y'all know who Justin is(the guy I was with before Will), along with who Will is(my current).

*sigh* nobody cares

Great poem... makes you think about how fast life goes by. Thanks for making me think twice about today.

That was really good.  I enjoyed it.  My parents are way too overprotective, so I can hear the "NO, NO, NO..."  Oh well.  I'll glad you have found your true love, even if you arent engaged anymore.

This is a great poem, Tamma... probably one of the best I've read from you.  The format is great!  The way you used couplets every other stanza, and the way you arranged the rhyme scheme in the other stanzas really added to the poem, and helped the flow a lot.  Nice work!  I enjoyed the read, and I'm glad you're happy   You're lucky you've gotten so many chances at love as a teenager... I only hope I get that lucky.  Well done here.

Beautiful poem, it moves through the years in an elegent manner. It was a lovely poem and shows the ways in whic teenage girls fal in and out of love and are so certain - that this may be the one!  Hope you and Will stay happy!  Keep writing.

Tamma, that was really good.  Rather different from the last stuff I read that you wrote. Haven't been on in a while.  Got LOADS of new Justin stories tho.  Anyways, this is awesome.  I had writers block too, but then I got inspired at midnight and my mom thought that I was crazy because I was writing and I was half asleep, but when you get inspiration, you get inspiration. Anyways, good Job!

I know you're in a better place and though I cannot see your face, I know you're smiling down on me, saying everything's okay. ~R Kelly (I wish)

I see this is about Ricky. I remember him...
I liked the poem a lot....hope to see some new ones.

This does show how the years go by, and I'm a total daddy's girl, so I can just see myself doing the same things that you mentioned.

I don't have an attitude problem You have a perception problem.

I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
