How can I,
Stuck in perpetual ways,
Waking time
The same time,
Same as all of my grim days,
Release form.
How can I,
Finding comfort in restraint,
Release structure,
When it’s what I build upon.
Dismal thoughts,
Fall through my thinking, breaking,
Clattering;
Chattering,
Their same sounding,
Rebounding,
And forms re-bar of my desolation.
Patter pattern of threes, sevens and tens of counting.
Even in releasing form,
It does not now wish to flee,
Being comfortable manacles to me,
Which finding,
Just laying,
Will casually put on.
I changed the alarm clock’s set,
Then spent the extra seven minutes in calm waiting.
Comfort is well metered flows,
The full moon
Just setting,
And the Sun,
Just rising,
Then knowing balance of light,
Yet seeing
The fleeing
Of the peaceful void of dark.
I’m walking the same three steps,
Each morning’s
Beginning.
I grasp the rail the same way,
Each morning’s
Beginning.
I see the years only in retrospect,
Not dwelling,
Proceeding
By the force of habit that I’ve become;
Then reaching
The ending,
That methodically always happens.

HELLO,

I really enjoyed this poem :=)
How diverse are we human creatures...the
comfort and predictability of routine
allows my words to tumble over the dam.
Thank you for sharing.

Ah PG--smiling here...I was just pondering how to incorporate some form and structure INTO my life...perhaps we could find a happy medium--who is that Jamaican lady who does Tarot readings? SHE LOOKS HAPPY...LOL...

Seriously, I loved the thought...and should you truly be in need, You could always follow me around for a week! sigh...and

Thank you, the Ladypoet,
Glad you liked this,
Yes we are diverse, which is part of which
Makes it all enjoyable.
Structure once formed builds upon itself.

Thank you, serenity,
Moderation in all things,
If we could only obtain it.
I have a set of cards, and do readings
Or did, but you wouldn’t want Gloom following you,
From place to place;
Unless you wish to break clocks and scare little children.
Thanks for taking the time to respond,
I am pleased you liked it
