There settles in the distance,
An act of love so profound,
That the skies and stars smile.
There in the distance sits a lonlely man,
And he awaits a word or two,
From some promised dream of times long ago.
Would you not take this man into your arms,
And enfold him within yourself,
Giving to him all your trust and love.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There sits a lady scarred and scared,
Dreaming of being the happy one,
The one that is surfacing with each smile,
That is bestowed on her by some far off sound of music.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So let the sunlight in once a day,
And let that glow show through your words.
Express to yourself at least,
The dire importance of knowing truth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is a tear here somewhere,
And today I can't explain its insistence.
There is a rambling road that completes me,
And I am slowly, with legs of stone,
Pushing myself towards its dust.
Perhaps this is all clutter of life,
This needing to be out of the way to make way for the true poetry.
This needing to be set free so that my wings will be cleansed,
And strengthened again for flight.
And here,
This poet who never believed in such things as flying,
Is trying to leave the ground,
And in my childhood I remember always climbing things.
Always looking toward the top of the tree,
To the precarious limbs that reached onward,
To see just how far up and out I could go,
Before I would cease to be cradled.
Always there was a wonder if there was a limb up there,
Strong enough to bend with me,
While I held on to it and let it slowly lower me,
Back onto the the ground again.
I have been through these words many days and I can surely relate to this poem. Oh, you have no idea.
and the sun drips honey."
I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps
you know that this spoke to some part of me. . . and I know that you really dug deep for this one. . .
that's why it's excellent. . .
To be happy, to let the sunshine in, to even shed a tear, brings us further down the road to our dreams..ahh, so very well done, oh gentle one...gentle smile
