Computer Dating

It’s late at night here the shadows are gathered all around
The music on the stereo is low a soft and soothing sound
I’ve been a little triste lately but hope it doesn’t show
Then the sun bursts through and my smiles begin to flow
It’s evening there in the twilight the stars begin to appear
You type my name and then call softly hoping I will hear
The screen seems to almost dissolve away the miles between
And your voice in my ear brings a blush no longer unseen

My image on your screen shows me laughing at your wit
I can hear your smile as you say, oh I think I’ve made a hit
We chat about nothing much but the time swiftly flows
The lamp above my desk reveals my face as it softly glows
Your camera doesn’t work so I miss the look on your face
As my strap slips down does your heart speed up its pace?
I didn’t think I’d enjoy talking to you quite as much as this
It’s so much fun to listen to your voice and imagine a kiss

Did the time pass as quickly for you as it raced by for me?
What did we say as we talked both imagining possibilities
My thoughts were rambling as I listen to your dear voice
Not wanting the date to end but still having no choice
Its getting quite late the clock shows it’s a quarter past three
What time does that make it there? Yet still you talk to me
I breathe the words it’s late love I really ought to go to bed
Although as soon as I’ve said it I wish those words unsaid

Yes you should, you say, then add, can we do this again soon
Please I’d like that, I say, and can hear suddenly a soft tune
The stereo is playing still and the song so totally appropriate
Stay With Me Till Dawn I didn’t realise it was getting so late
Goodnight then love, I say, I’ll be here again soon I promise
There in your voice I can hear a soft gentle goodnight kiss
Bye for now then, I say, I’ll be off have a good nights sleep
As I leave I see hope again in morning’s light begin to peep

Marsha

Take back the hope you gave,- I claim
Only a memory of the same

Beautiful heartfelt writing Mushy! I can only hope the best for you...this is quite the verse....

"My image on your screen shows me laughing at your wit
I can hear your smile as you say, oh I think I’ve made a hit
We chat about nothing much but the time swiftly flows
The lamp above my desk reveals my face as it softly glows
Your camera doesn’t work so I miss the look on your face
As my strap slips down does your heart speed up its pace?
I didn’t think I’d enjoy talking to you quite as much as this
It’s so much fun to listen to your voice and imagine a kiss."

Of course a word of caution as there is always the other side of life that can turn nasty and be totally undesirable.
Delightful writing all the same!!
