~Unrequited~

Of all the things I've never done ... and all the things I've still yet to do ...
I'd trade them away in a heart beat ... to be lying there next to you.
For the beaches I've never walked on ... the oceans I'll never see ...
I'd gladly forfeit their beauty ... to drown in the depths of your intensity.

There is so much I've not seen or done ... so much of me remains unrequited,
Still I'd pass on it all ... to live inside your heart ...  so sweetly invited.
Of all the languages I've not spoken ... all the love songs I've not yet heard,
I'd give my ability to speak ... just to inspire in you ... but a single poetic word.

For all the delicacies I've not savored ... the fine wines I'll not sip,
Without hesitation I would starve ... for just a taste of you on my lips.
Of all the pleasures I've yet to know ... the contentment still not found within,
They could never compare ... to the ecstasy of this anticipated sweet sin.

One might say ... you cant trade away what you don't possess or hold ...
Still I'd sell my soul in a second ... to have carnal knowledge of your secrets untold.

~Winds Of Change~

Poetic winds blow ... now sweetly swept away,
carry me to the place in you ... so that I might stay.
Safe passage to your harbors ... sail across your seas,
breathe in all your pleasures ... set my spirit free.

Poetic winds blow ... gentle breezes take my will,
carry me to the place in you ... where time stands still.
Take me so far away ... to discover your beaches of sand,
under your starry skies ... I rise up ... heart in my hand.

Poetic winds blow ... quietly taken into the night,
carry me to the place in you ... warmed by desires light.
Baptize me in your mystical waters ... sun dry me on your shores,
caress me with your winds of change ... allow my heart to soar.

Poetic winds blow ... lift me up ... now Heaven bound,
carry me to the place in you ... where contentment is found.
Fly with me in twilight skies ... painted in hues by the setting sun,
as we fly free towards the rising moon ... two souls become one.

~Drops of Jupiter~
by: Train
from the cd by the same name

Now that she's back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey

Tell me did you sail across the sun
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated

Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself out there

Now that she's back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey
She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo
Reminds me that there's time to grow, hey, hey

Now that she's back in the atmosphere
I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane
Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land

Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind
Was it everything you wanted to find
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there

I remember these quite well and I thought they were wonderful at the time and I still do.

"One might say ... you cant trade away what you don't possess or hold ..."

But you've proved that to be wrong because you would trade away your fantasies for the real thing and in this piece you own the fantasies. I'm so glad you shared them!   Marvelous projection of heart at the conclusion....great writing JM

"Baptize me in your mystical waters ... sun dry me on your shores,
caress me with your winds of change ... allow my heart to soar."

Now that's beautiful poetry!  It flows so magically!  Dear Janet you are VANtastic!
Love starts where no words hurt,
where all hearts cry for lovers of sweet needs,
                             thoughts filled with smiles
and speaking love with slow words filled with hope,
                                the words of light
straight from the sky where the flame lights the mist.

Pictures endear the golden bowl files
                             lust, birth and friendship,
                           retrieving all of history's fathers
from sketches lining the walls of circles
                                hot with wet glue
shot out of a cup running and flowing.

                               An angel in the night
full breasts to grip and taste for the first love
                               where no fool gives
pure strength to men undaunted in the head,
                               filled with the truth
where true love grows; an urgent place to share.

Still they must beckon again their wants
                              lying in the flower bed
with such encasing needs deep in their love.
Late, they must whince at worries of a kind
                              and cry in weak grief,
in the first person of lonely functions.

                         Love breeds inside their chambers;
from truth to sex, til the old talking mood
                              comes to such friends.
No hurt, no lies, just lovers of their time
                               stuck to the moon
reclining in a pool of well oiled years.

Keep up the good work my dear poet pet and thanks so much for reposting!! They're fabulous!

Like those lyrics by Train too!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

JM,
OK Randy screamed she loves me and took off again. Fact is if I had his wings I probably
would have joined him. You've managed to touch everyone who loves you and some more than others. Winkiewinkie Stinky

thank you all for these wonderful touching replies...and for not getting tired of reading my reposts...
thank you to the two freinds who asked for these to be given another go round...
and for letting me know what they mean to you.
Just by coincidence both of these ended up being the ones voted by my fellow poets to be in the book.
Unrequited is special as I believe of all my work it defines me.
Thank you to Poetry Land for the constant that you are in to me.
love, respect, and gratitude ... always,
