Moonlit Shadow Dance

I saw you dart behind that tree
I know you’re there . . . it’s me!

Please come out, come out and play
the moon is here and means to stay

It’s time, it’s time again tonight
to share the darkness and the light

I know we’re only shadows now
but still, I think we touch somehow

So take my hand and come along
we’ll ask poor-will to sing a song

And watch us dance across the lawn
a moonlit shadow dance ‘till dawn

The night air feels so crisp and thin
It will seem like dancing skin to skin

And we’ll dream away our troubled souls
shadow dancing as the moonlight glows

A nice touch of shadow and moonlight to reach out and grab, nice imagery...

An enjoyable dance indeed!
Well done.

Another fabulous poem, Krawdad, maybe even one of your best that I've been in to read.  Really enjoyed the romance of it.

"Neglecting to respond" and guilty as charged.  Apologies.  Been away a bit.

Appreciate that you stoped by and glad that you enjoyed this.
It was written to answer a challenge, to get me out of a funk.  It worked.  And it was fun to do.
Makes me wonder, when and if folks on this site ever get together in the flesh, what will they all do?  Dancing anyone?
