There is an everchanging road I think my heart is on,
And I wonder of the importance of consistency.
There is an ever occurring thought of you,
That surfaces in the hours when I can reach out for no one else.
Always said there could be no one else,
And I was right, but what does that mean?
Let go of you because I had to,
Reconnected with another only to be let go this time.
Friendship from passion has its qualities, I'll admit,
But my heart just wants to rest from all the confusion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the wind changes outside my window,
I watch with you in mind.
The seduction of Vivaldi permeates my spirit,
While I thoughtfully swirl the wine,
I wish you were here to share.
Nothing like sharing the night with a warm memory,
And its often the safest thing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But what does my heart say?
Ohh...
Tell me what does it know?
When resolving to watch everyone be happy,
What does it do to heal itself?
And why the flashes of memory?
Why the constant need?
I'm like the moth to love's flame,
But I have smudged wings,
And I'm limping around in circles now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This above is just as baffling to me as it is to you, but there really is nothing behind it. Fragments of thought. No worries.
aha, but if you look at them as several separate small poems, it all becomes clear....you have a way with words
Temptress,
"But what does my heart say?
Ohh...
Tell me what does it know?
When resolving to watch everyone be happy,
What does it do to heal itself?
And why the flashes of memory?
Why the constant need?
I'm like the moth to love's flame,
But I have smudged wings,
And I'm limping around in circles now."
You have no idea how well I relate to that. Well done
it's time for you to make yourself happy. . . you will find it. . . in these words. . .
well written. . . from the heart. . .
This is truly outstanding, really well written, perfectly presented.
"And what does your heart know" ?
It is in your heart you find the answers you seek. Yes you will be happy and healed, You have a fabulous way of writing.
Take care
Sometimes sigh writing or letting your mind go can produce wonderful writing which you have proven here and I know you say there is nothing behind the poem yet those words betray that statement. Take care and keep sigh writing.
There is much to be said for "Moments of Insight" whihc is what I would describe this as.
All life need not be sequential in any linear sense. Stippled wisdom often fills the blank spaces left by chronlogy.
One could even term these, "insight leaps"
Yanno...to even be able to have this gift of writing and to be able to do it with a "sigh" is healing in itself. To keep searching for answers only keeps pain alive, but to smile and remember only the good, and then look for that again, ah now that is the direction.  This was an excellent set of musings, well done.
your words mean so much ... we must learn to find what we want within ourselves to make ourselves happy
Oh love this is utterly fabulous piece, and much as we don't want to hear it you will rise again I know. And all the time you can write then I know you will be fine, you write so well and so beautifully
This is excellent work and you have a wonderful gift
