In a corporeal internship...

From a central star in a prominent spot
In the evening sky, she was begot
Like a revelation
Clearly concealed
In a shroud of elation
And pain revealed

She always knows more than she lets on;
Her facade remains faithful even when all faith is gone

All at once she becomes a beam of light
Shining darkness upon all she has in sight
Then with equal intensity, her shadows grow,
Casting light onto things only she can know

To communicate with her is to gaze into a ball
Of crystal clear confusion that reveals nothing at all

With the stillness of a tidal wave
She stirs my active mind
And throws away what she can save
Then saves the throws, in kind

She hides behind the silence in between the questions asked,
Turning on the light to show the world that her face is masked

She reads the things which can't be read
And chooses what she will
To hear from all of the things said --
Her valley is your hill

At times she seems content with the simple things in life
Like the meaning of existance as applied to all your strife

She knows exactly what she wants
But knows not what to do
When what she gets is that which haunts
Her with the Truth of you

Her waters have an undertoe
Which pull beneath my feet,
Gently forcing me to go
Where cold is met with heat

Yet, despite these things
There are things she brings
Which make the sojourn grand,
For what compares
To careless cares
When things don't go as planned?

At times she is enchanting
Sometimes she is bizzare
The conundrum of lucid ranting
Reminds us who we are...

And like the star from where she came
She holds the title of a name
I gave to her to indicate
We are whomever we create

But at the same time we can't evade
The real us which someone else made...
A someone who, beyond the stars
Saw beauty under all our scars
And even now, while we pretend
He sees the Truth we try to bend
Like she who hides behind her locks...
The unique Princess Paradox.

Mark, I have to read this several more times, before I can adequately comment. But to begin with, WOW!

Thank you, Sy -- the feeling is mutual.

MEM, thank you.  I'm pleased that you enjoyed this one...  it has much to ponder upon and to let "sink in".

Sandra...  take your time -- this one is multi-layered with lots of juxtapositions and contrasts.  Thank you, as always, for your interest.

Decaflame, I sincerely thank you for the compliment and want you to know that I take pleasure in the honor of sharing my random thoughts, experiences, stories, and emotions with all of you special people here at Passions.

Smiles, Ron...  the same holds true for you and your poetry -- you've made me pause and contemplate in a positive way many times, and I look forward to reading many more of your works.

Thanks, Elise, but actually, not really, for this one has a context of inspiration that wouldn't be perfect for them...  at least, from a subjective point of view.  Perhaps in terms of concepts to contemplate in general, you may be right -- things like the beauty of simplicity and Honesty and Communication...  those are good things for everyone with which to become acquainted, well-versed, and practicing...  but this poem was actually expressing frustration and confusion.  Thanks for the read and reply.

Thanks for the read, James.
