I stood upon the green grass
wondering where the years had gone
remembering her beautiful face
it has been almost thirty years
since I stood there wiping my tears
wondering why he chose her
chose her..not to live on
the pine trees were taller
taller than the last time
as I remembered the hot summer day
like a butterfly, she was set free
an angel in the sky
a guardian angel watching over me

Only the whisper of the winds sound
I stood with my mother
my arm wrapped around
mom graced the vase with pink flowers
as I pulled the dandelions
from around the vase of brass
knowing  she was smiling upon us

I looked into her brave eyes of blue
my last words.. "I love you"
but the morn never came
no one to really blame

We drove away
  down the quiet Pennsylvania road
my eyes glued to the carnations
upon her final resting place
they danced in the sweet breeze of May
i will return my little sis
yes you I will always miss
even when my hair turns silver gray
until I am eternally with you

You came into the world on a robins wing
the first day of spring
you touched briefly our lives
for twelve years
our memories we will share
she had Alice in wonderland hair
my guardian angel
in the memories of the wind

hello Victoria     nice to see you again. . .

this is wonderful. . . it's a fine portrait of a memory. . . and of promises made. . .

Hello Victoria....good to see you.  This was well done, with a grace and style befitting of the angel herself...

Victoria~
This is such a loving tribute to your little sister.

I, too, have known the loss of a sister ...
and I thank God that the memories are forever.

'You came into the world on a robins wing
the first day of spring
you touched briefly our lives
for twelve years
our memories we will share
she had Alice in wonderland hair
my guardian angel
in the memories of the wind'

So beautifully said ...
*Hugs*
