A few things I have pondered,
about our cyber-space...
Like, when did “a/s/l?” become a greeting?
And the reason pics are given,
(ones that don’t include the face)...
Is because there’s not one chance in hell,
of meeting!

Someday I’d love to meet,
whoever named it “Chat”...
Isn’t that what ladies do at tea?
No wonder that humanity is in the place it’s at...
The only place we touch,
is:
on the screen...

Please don’t get me wrong...
I’m fond of these machines...
They’ve proved to be some very useful tools...
By man’s own hand,
without a thought...he brought them into being...
Not knowing they’d end  up,
in hands of fools...

And fools we often are...
As hunters on the net...
Of every vice and greed that’s known to man...
We keep ourselves anonymous,
and take what we can get...
Then  give back,
just as little as we can...

I know that there are cases,
of cyber love that’s real...
But that’s a rare exception,
at it’s best...
More is the case of “click--->you’re gone”...
Who cares how someone feels...
It puts the human spirit to the test...

It’s only my opinion,,,
I’ve pondered at some length...
And felt this subject worthy of debate...
I had the urge to write,
about our finest human strength...
Though cyber’s fine...
Real life’s devine...
When two communicate!!!!!!

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

sunny-
ah yes..you speak the truth, my friend.
it's really pretty sad and even scary
when you think about how detached some
of those relationships can really be.
i must say, though, that i have made
some wonderful friends online as well...
and many of them right here at this site.

hmmmmmm...i may just have to repost one
of my oldies in response to this one..LOL
don't be surprised if you see me sneak
in with something along the same
   wavelength as this one..

   hugs to you,

...Vicky...
Hey, yes.......the more said on this subject the better......go for it!!  And I do agree that not all cyber relationships are shallow, it's just that sometimes we get taken in, and that's sad.  Best advice is to make friends, but mix in some reality.  Thanks!!

Hey twin...yes there are predators out there...and gullible people to be taken advantage of...but then again...there are wonderful friends as well...so like you say...use the tool...but keep one foot on the ground....

To reply to this in here
is to betray the trust
of poetry divine
and cyber-techie lust

But here goes anyway
for to communicate
we need at least two
to somehow replicate

feelings that are there
at any given time
for emptiness is dark
in a cyber-poets rhyme

killed my Buddha, killed my Christ
Killed my karma, paid the price

For 27 years I've carried the welt
Wie klein ist Ihre Welt?

You said it sis, so many false scenarios are played out online. But also, as has been said, I have met most of my best friends here, so every day I am grateful for the communication ability, and the supportive friends of passions. Now about those chat place.  Tapping foor in time to Serenity's...

Hi Sunny,

Nothing can replace human touch, watching the eyes come to life in a smile, a "real" hug.  Even so, there are some wonderful and honest people online, as we all know.  I enjoyed this.  (((hugs)))

So much could be said about this, I believe time proves a person to a certain degree, that and their actions. Thanks for posting this.
