Campfire Marshmallows

Throw a log
On the fire
Watch the flame
Dancing higher

Cut a stick
Not too short
Poplar or cherry
Make the best sort

Cut a point
Make it sharp
You needn’t worry
About the bark

Now you’re ready
The coals are hot
Settle down
In a comfortable spot

Toast the marshmallows
Golden brown
Now watch out
Don’t touch the ground

They’re so good
Cook two or three
One for you
And two for me

Catch them on fire then blow them out. I never had the patience to get them evenly brown. Lots of great memories.
