He was her little boy her first born
Her love child and hers to love as no other
A new little soul to keep from the worlds scorn
For whom she would always be called "his mother"

She was so unprepared for all that was to come
A sudden trip to foreign lands when birth was upon her
No warm bed for either but a barn borrowed for this one
The sins of woman called labor ended in glorious birth

Such awe such beauty did over come that sight
In her eyes he was most precious a gift to keep
May he be safe and healthy she prayed that night
Be caring and wisdom may he ever seek

No time to linger another jounery to begin
She wanted to keep him safe from earthly pain
Where to go how to get there follow the wind
Nothing to pack not much to carry fight fear again

As she heard what was expected of this child
The pain for both to endure she tried to understand
Not easy for a mother her life going wild
Someone else holding her son's hand

Please let him stay little let him have no cares
Let someone else save the world but not my son
But after all was said and done after the tears
She was told this is the only chosen one

Seymour, I can't begin to know what she felt, but I can imagine.

This reminds me of a beautiful song called "Mary, Did You Know?" Excellent poem.

Excellent tribute to Mary (I presume) the mother of Jesus.

Don't let Marge see this comment

Sven you flatter me.  I can imagine some of her feelings and it tears a mother's heart.  ME

Beautifully done of a story so heartbreaking.
