Wrap Your Thoughts

by Michael

Close your eyes
and wrap your thoughts
around the distant mountain peaks.
Feel the cold,
search each crevice
and remember its shape.

Wrap thoughts
around a forest.
Can you feel
the exhale of pure air?
Yes, the forests have lungs.

Is it no wonder
that birds and squirrels
build nests in those trees?

Wrap your thougts
around a mountain stream.
Can you hear the music
that it makes?
It is the music of ages.

Now wrap your thoughts
around me.
What is it that you feel?

You drew me in with the first stanza....I loved the different wrappings throughout the piece.  It touched me.  It makes me homesick for the mountains that I grew up with and have been away from for nearly two years now, in Alaska!!  I liked the way you transitioned from one stanza to the next.  It gradually became closer and more personal!!  Me likes!!!  Good piece!!!!
This is the first poem of yours that I've read.  Welcome!!

Another thing is that I also really liked how you took me into the forest and then to listen to the music of the stream. It makes me recall the wonderful times of being outdoors in nature what wonderful feelings!!!

Michael, this is so relaxing. Sitting here, eyes closed for a moment, thinking about the beauty you write about.

Lady In White,
You're very sweet.  Thank you.

Sunny,
Between you and Lady In White I find myself getting embarrassed.  I do, however, appreciate both of your kind words.  Thank you.

Dee,
Hi sweet one. Thank you for coming by to read.  I look forward to talking with you again soon.

Kit,
Thank you.  I'm so glad you got something from this.

ethome,
I thank you much for both the visit and the nice words.  Thanks.
