Inside the woman lives the girl
she's hiding most of the time
behind the worries and her fears
weighing on her mind

The face she shows the outside world
Is so little like herself
Til someone looks deep inside
and she remembers how it felt

Her laugh breaks loose, the smile unleashed
and suddenly she returns
his love awakened the sweet truth
inside the woman, lives the girl

How true!  There's a part of every woman that never ages, though most of us keep that fact well hidden.

It's important to keep the child in you alive (even if you're seventeen), people often forget and grow old too fast.

Thanks for this lovely poem.

I don't know Irish Rose, but you always have something sweet to say to my writing, and I thank you for that.

WE must be kindred spirits (smile)
