The Writer's Hand

by Michael

Stars frozen in eternity,
now spill their forlorn light
to fall upon a writer’s hand,
as he frails into night.

And loneliness tries wrap him close,
it is his company.
His loved ones are quietly sleeping,
as he pens poetry.

A therapy, this honest art,
he chooses words with care.
Today he’ll rhyme, tomorrow not,
some of these poems he’ll share.

Some sensual, to stir the loins
and some will speak of hope.
Others will speak of broken dreams
and how he learned to cope.

He pushes hair back from his eyes
then wipes his glasses clean
and draws a coffee mug to lips,
thinks of the life he’s seen.

You have painted a beautiful canvas of words Michael.......mind if I enjoy a cup of coffee with you?  Wonderful Michael.  *s*

Michael....I love this one....it's a subject near and dear to my heart, and to the hearts of most writers.  Seems like we are the most creative when there is total solitude....at least, that's when I pay attention to my muse!!  Great one, as all of yours are to me!

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Like a vision before me, the poet and his pen in the dark of the evening.  Wonderful writing, Michael.  You have a real gift, ny friend.

I like this one a lot, so much truth in your words.  Great job

Gentle Spirit,
Yes, let's have a cup of coffee and sit at the kitchen table for awhile and talk.    Thanks, glad you liked this.

Lady,
It certainly never stops me.  It's my favorite time to write.  Thanks

Susan,
Yes, the same here.  Children are wonderful to have around and we do love them so, but writing is virtually impossible then they're up and about needing our attention. And you know what?  To heck with the poem!  Our kids must always come first.    Thank you for reading and liking.

Watersign6,
Your replies never fail to bring to me a smile.  Thank you

Cpat Hair,
I must definitely agree.  Thank you and happy you enjoyed this.

rosepetals25,
That you "love" my poetry pleases me more that you could know.  It is those kind of nice comments that keep us writers wanting to create.  Thank you most sincerely.

Sunny,
You are so sweet and thank you, my friend.  Yes, I can only write when all is quiet and I can become introspective.

Elizabeth Anne,
Thanks for coming by and happy you liked this one.

Sue,
It is always such a pleasure to find one of your posts on my poems.  Thank you, sweetie.

Jennifer,
And it is a comfortable part of the night, as least for me.  Thank you, my friend.

Lone Wolf,
Thank you and I do most appreciate the compliment.

Melissa,
What a nice thing to say.  Thank you, Melissa.

ThUnDeRkYsS,
Thank you.  I see that you've been around since before I joined Passions and yet I don't remember seeing any of your work posted.  I will be looking for it in the future.

Sven,
Yes, I thought you'd be able to relate to thiis as well.  Thank you, my friend.

OLIAS,
I try to write these truths, but in all honesty, sometimes fail miserably in doing so.  I do, however, apprreciate your kind words.  Thanks

Interloper,
And you "Write on" too. Thank you

Victoria,
Thank you coming for coming by, reading and liking.

sodpossom,
I'm glad that you can relate and thanks for the "beautiful"

Dee,
It's such a nice surprise to see you here.    Thank you, sweet one.

Kit,
I was hoping the tranquility I feel at this time of the evening would show through.  Thank you for noticing.

Everyone,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and leaving such nice comments.  It really means a lot to me.

Michael
