Outside Looking In

Calm describes the eye
storm swirling silent science
lies peace within to thread
the eye of the needle blind

red swollen hung lamplights
forever trying dying present
soul malnutrition past defined
bread water luxuries design

awake tracing oblivion motion
out of time transfixed unmovable
melody inside out surrounds untouched
starving soul ravaged hope where is peace

within the eye bloody the rainbow rising
hopes lynched acceptable signs of being
never quite rooted bloomed inward defiant
raging 'gainst the sky the needle pierces the eye

and all is red
dripping curtains
that stains the glass
of the shattered eye

even though the eye of the storm is completely at peace the remainder of this has stark, painful images raging about it

well-done contrast

Sharp imagery evoked with this.  Nicely written.

Very well written piece! Enjoyable read!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Your writing is...amazing...and familiar. I like breaking it apart to see how my mind takes in the different messages of its intent, whether they were intended or not, you give much in your weave, and each time I read it over,

I come up with a new shawl for my shoulders.

Well done, and thank you!
