Until we meet again

10 short hours ago
I said goodbye
And drove away
So many tears uncried
You would be leaving
My life, another
In a long list
Of recent goodbyes

Who am I going to call
At 2:30 in the morning?
Crying and sobbing
Without hesitation
Who is going to be
My shoulder and friend
The one I hardly ever see
But consider my best

Maybe goodbyes don't hurt you
As much as this one hurt me
Maybe this is all for a reason
You came into my life for a short season

You have always been
Through fights and tears
Over the years,
My friend, my boyfriend, my ex
And now that you have left

I know not what to do
I said "Until we meet again"
But just what am I
Supposed to do until then?
