I no longer see the words
I feel them each stark sharpened
stake euphamising past present tomorrows
dream to make and my eyes die as surely as

my insides feeling letters traced one and
once upon a time rhen read you walk in smile
I would reach I try but their is no strength
as is known there is no time so I stare eyes closed

dripping wet still within me rain undenied
I have read these words consumed them lived them
fallen faithless in their scrutiny halved the
halves into more halves each clutching to remain

yet the cataracts beat the cancer inside and I am
now but fuel for the funeral pyre one day one time
one summer in the sun I look to Heaven pleading
knowing all is done and carved in diamond stone

like the one to the river I gave in the heat of all
rejection and time my quiet friend taps me on the
shoulder and points to death not silent but smiling
he has chosen his successor he shall be free and I

soon to be ushered to my role new to comfort relieve
pain and rage I know his eyes I know his longings
peace home family I cannot blame him twas I invited
him in and he knows it and she knows it no there is

no time no time left no time in any direction none
when I threw it away in hours bottled bond tears
seeking meaning to this thing we walk through life
was I heretic madman or simply pain incarnate

I would laugh if tears would stand aside I am all
and nothing I dreamed fulfilling failing every task
so as I read with eyelids closed feeling as I go I
swear I will write no more, I write no more forever

"The most redeeming facet of life is that we have the comfort of knowing it will end. Death doth love equally."

Wow! What a powerful intense write....The whole work is exceptional, well crafted. The world is a better pace with you writing in it!  Write write! Until you can write no more, spread this talent to the eyes of those searching for truth.  Very sad and very deeply inspired....thanks for this!!

Oh, please unswear! I remain constantly and pleasantly amazed by your writing, and with each reading, hear the lines differently each and every time!

Sometimes I wonder, sometimes I know too well.

What I wonder this evening is.....my own to keep. All the same, it seems like a good time and place to respond to a poem I've read many times during the past two years.

Answer, I mean, even though there is nothing for me to say....and I wonder about that too, at least for now.
