Anniversary Roses

So many ways to say I love you…
yet so few can say it the way that roses do.
Petal kisses,
at least a hundred thousand or so,
carrying the kiss I blew to you.
Six dozen stems,
two each for every year,
a million dreams plus one or two,
lovingly entwined  in this gift for you.
A heart shaped card
saying the things I never could,
fervent words from a poets hand,
someone who felt my love for you.
A crystal vase,
softly brushed with a lavender hue
exuding a radiance like I saw in you
those many days and years ago
when first we touched,
you held my hand,
and then the day you wore
my wedding band.
So many ways to say I love you…
Petal kisses,
six dozen  stems,
so many dreams,
a poets words,
another month - a year has passed,
a zillion thoughts,
a lot of tears,
a crystal vase and all my love…
a crystal vase…
and all my love.

James, such a lovely way to express your love for her.  She is a very lucky lady.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

I guess I'm slipping. I sincerely thank each and all of you for your wonderful comments;
but, alas, I'm sorta disappointed too because though I tried to be a little vague and not say it in so many words, I guess I blew it totally out of the piece...I mean about the recipient of the Roses...the "dead" recipient.

Thought maybe I had said enough at the end for you guys to catch it...but guess not. I guess this time I twisted the "twist" totally out of it. Normally I carry it off but it's been a while since I've written anything...

Don't misunderstand, you know me,  a love poem it is, but to the missing half this time (not me, by the way).

I promise to try harder.
