The Pen, Stayed

held in one’s hand
                a beauty
of a Cross
       marbled green
gold in accent
worlds and words
        flow through

held in his hand
it is stayed

held in her hand
it goes astray

fountainglorious it roams
across vast sheets of white
                       or yellow or
pieces of brown, anytheme
and anywhere
        she would put it down

in black or blue-black or
                    blue on blue

she queries not the source
but credits her muse, and crew

he would remove
as if by surgery the pen
carve it out and away
               but then again

the fire comes to her
hazeling eyes
and he steps back
in realize
that her pen, he cannot stay

that in her hand,
and in her command,
perhaps, though,
not at her demand
this is why,
the pen, stayed

for someday, he might
understand, and for this….
…..she prays

It would be a crime most felonious
yes, a dsastardly deed most odious
to stay a creative hand guiding pen
he should be sentenced to serve two to ten.

Decalflame--I had a Cross that is lost, but the words come without it.  I'm glad the passion of your pen cannot be stopped.  Wonderful poem!

DecaFlame~
Understanding more than you could know ...
and yet ... I'm sure you do.

This is a loving plea ...

'for someday, he might
understand, and for this….
…..she prays'

and someday perhaps~

My, my, my...this has to be my favorite of yours!  May I take a copy for my favorites?  May I dream that my pen might be so enamored with muse, to someone's eyes, someday?
