Lost In A Sea Of Sorrow

She hides within the dark shadows in the ocean of her mind.
A sea of sorrow where she continue to search for answers.
Only echoes of dark laughter ricochet off the water.
Pain bounces off the waves like a child skipping rocks.
As the wind whips, thoughts scatter uncontrollably.

Once again conceding to the pain of the night.
A lonely abyss of memories, pain best forgotten.
A black river of tears flows into the sea of anger.
Lost and alone, she searchs for a new beginning.
But clearly sees a path of self-destruction ahead.

Her mournful cry sounds, but no echo responds,
There is such finality, in never being heard.
Raising her arms in prayer to the sky, she silently scream.
The sky is filled with sparkling, shattered glass,
Instead of its beauty; she feels the shards in my heart.

Worries so lucid, fear controls, and trust eludes me.
Behind these dark shadows she hide in some safety.
As the clock ticks, another precious moment is lost.
But she stays within the walls of sweet darkness.
Her sanctuary, is it an illusion, a dream, or reality?

I wonder if she cuts her finger will it even bleed?
The numbness makes this moment in time stand still.
She stands in the thicket of pain, like a puzzle piece,
Waiting for someone to find her a place to fit in.
Time matters not if you are finished waiting.

A gentle rain falls, and mixes in with her tears;
The coldness of the evening air is so familiar.
Like her soul, so quickly the rain evaporates,
And what is left are unclear drops of nothingness.
So hollow, empty, she is so alone hiding in a sea of sorrow.

Off in the distance she see a minute beam of light;
It beckons her hauntingly, calling her forward.
As she moves closer, her body warms, and her mind clears.
And a gentle voice from the ocean whispers,
Follow the light, for in it, there is peace.

She come across a salt water pond, motionless, and still,
Such tranquility, serenity, almost holy.
She sees her reflection in the azure and green water.
A voice in her head is now so soothing, comforting.
So lost in this sea of sorrow, she turns and follows the light.
For there perhaps, is a new beginning.

Let us sincerely hope so.

Interloper: I hope so - so many hide in bad memories best left forgotten.

Auguste and Saunni: Thanks for the prayer, one can never have enough of those for sure.

Titia: I am so pleased you liked this one as I sort of did as well, thank you.

Sharon, as you always do so wonderfully, you have weaved a mystic and beautiful vision so fitting to the intriguing picture you used to illustrate this.  Very captivating, and it flowed like the waves on the face of the ocean...BRAVO!
Hugs and smiles to you, dawn

Mysteria~
And it IS a hauntingly lovely piece ...

'And a gentle voice from the ocean whispers,
Follow the light, for in it, there is peace.'

You have a neat imagination -
and the words surrender themselves gently to you.

*I do know someone that I hope reads this
and rises swiftly to the 'light'.
Love n' hugs~

Martha: I loved the picture, but the sadness I am feeling for a friend inspired the words.

Marge: You "read me" too well!  I sent it to her actually, and I too hope she reads it and knows it is sent in love.  Thank you for stopping in this morning.

It is very sad. But I like the graphics and the music. You write art very well.
