If I painted the night sky
The deepest shade of Ebony
Handing you each perfect star
Wrapped in luna’s sweet honey

If I stole the sunrise morn
Twirling colors ‘fore your eyes
Waltzing with those prism rays
...multicolored butterflies

If I caught the softest sigh
And carried it to your dreams
Releasing it over you
Smiling soft as it redeems

If I played the angel choir
Laws of beauty it defies
Melodies sweeter than hope
The gossamer winged lullabies

If I decorate my heart
In shades of jade and sapphire
Would you finally see my love
And know all that you inspire

If I showed you destiny
Displaying this natural art
Would you dip your soul in mine
Creating a work....of heart

my oh my ... me thinks you are a beautiful butterfly

Holly-girl this is stunning....
your imagery is indeed a work of art here.
the turn of phrase and cadence kissed emotions are divine ...
and the theme and intend of the inspire is poetry in motion...
you penned this one with an artists brush
dipped in luna dust baby...
this one goes high on my butterfly list of faves...
and hey....its a groovy too
love ya me SS

My Butterfly kid, you have painted the most beautiful picture!  I can't tell you which line is the most wonderful because they each compliment each other.  I love each and every word.  Love and hugs, butterfly mom

butterflies,

I don't know what
to say that would
bring this the justice
that it deserves -
I can only say that
your poem is a work
of art itself, the
last few lines were
creative, very lovely!

This is so beautiful, I am speechless!!  It flows so well and seems to sing soft and sweet like a lullabye.  Excellent writing, Holly.  I believe you have found your wings again, my friend.

You paint with your pen every bit as well as Van Gough did with the brush, annother work of art from you my friend.
