You lit the Night

What you have given to the black of night
Is sparkling crystal gleaming from your eyes
Reflecting from a single candle’s light
To blaze my midnight world with starry skies

What you have given to the early morn
An aura that illuminates your face
In shadows deep a melody is born
As summer birds fall into your embrace

What you have done to bring new life to me
In darkest night or bright of midday sun
Is give me love that’s deeper than the sea
And prove to me I am your only one

My heart is faltering at what to do
To show the measure of my love for you

This was so lovely and sonnets are my favorite.  You do them so well.

Beautiful, Liz.  You sure do have a knack for sonnets!

exceptional cadence and wonderful imagery with analogies of the seasons to define the emotions.
beautiful Liz.

Elizabeth, Excellent Shakepearean sonnet. I am so glad I came in to see this.  There is so little formal poetic forms being written today that this was a joy to see. Panne
