While everyone else lays sleeping
And the moon has cast its beams
Mr. Sandman comes to visit me
Bringing me the most wonderful dreams

With a sprinkle of dream dust
On my pillow he does throw
Then he's gone into the night
And into my dream world I will go

Such peace and harmony do my dreams bring
So many beautiful birds around me do sing
Then I look ahead further
Past the twinkling stars
And right ahead in front of me
There you are

You walk towards me
Is that a smile I see?
As you reach out for my hand
And take me to a better land
Mesmerised by each other
In a land free from pain
Where only our love and our hearts they do reign

We ride together on moonbeams
Across the skies we do glide
With your arms wrapped around me
Never leaving my side

In dreams we're always together
In dreams we never part
In dreams I can't control
The rapid beating of my heart
Time has no end here in my dreams
Things are not always quite as they seem

Just to be here with you
Forever and a day
To hear the lovely things
That you have to say
I don't need more than this
Maybe just one more kiss?
Would you take me to heaven?
Would you go there with me?
We'll sing loves beautiful tune
As we fly to the moon

What's this I can see as I open my eyes?
The sun's early rays are appearing outside
Mr. Sandman has retreived
The dream dust from my eyes
With some sadness
It's only then I realise
That you're not here in my arms
Lying peacefully next to me
Oh, how much joy that would surely bring me
If only it could be.......

Without our dreams, would we wake in the morning?  I'm not so sure.
We should all wish each other 'sweet dreams'.
(Hope yours continue)

If only it could be......(you and me)
What a wonderful dream are they not wonderful things to write about?  I eat food on purpose before bed just to have them, ha!  Nicely done.

Thanks so much for all your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed my poem. I am a self confessed dreamer and a true piscean.  It gives me peace and much joy to dream as I'm sure it does for everyone.  Thank you....Sue

Sue, you have a lovely way with words. I enjoyed.

In dreams we're always together
In dreams we never part
In dreams I can't control
The rapid beating of my heart

I'm off to find more.
