The bright sun slowly begins to set
as nightfall approaches
a long winter's night is upon me
thus is my life
a short period of sunshine
a period of warmth and happiness
feelings of love fill and surround me
but soon I feel the chill of loneliness
as I feel the one I love slip away

seeing the sun once again set
followed by a long and bitter cold
like icy needles piercing my skin
seeing no moon overhead
darkness surrounding me
frozen solid by fear
as I lie broken and alone
praying for the day to come
or for death to ease the pain inside

I long for the warmth of daylight
I long for release from this torment
the chilling darkness of winter's night
is a prison all its own
without iron bars or stone walls
but of sadness, depression, and loneliness

these dark and harsh companions
have become my jailors
they have become my judges, my jury
and my executioners
shivering as I begin to cry
tears slowly freezing upon my cheek
my life as it has always been
suffering another harsh and lonely winter
a winter that lasts an eternity

Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death.

Wow, I am speechless, well not quite speechless but pretty close to it . That was a very emotional poem, absolutly brilliant . Probably one of the best poems I have ever read . I think I'll put this in my library .
Thanks .
