She opened her mouth
and her heart came pouring out
now what?!
she said things
she's kept bottled up inside
for so long
and with the words
came the tears
shameful tears
needing desperately
~to talk~ and enjoying it~
but feeling as though
she's betrayed him
guilt wars with need
the need of an attentive ear
guilt that it wasn't his
even though she's tried
to get him to listen
to hear
to understand
it makes her angry
to keep quiet
to keep stuffing it inside
it makes her sad
he is the one she wants
to talk to
but she's tried
and tried and tried
how many times
can you talk to someone
open your heart
to have it fall flat
stay the same
never change...
she feels the doors
slaming shut
somewhere inside
looks like guilt
is winning.........

SEA...when was the last time you attended a baseball game? Nothing like being part of all that humanity, and hope, and expectation....all of that life ..... to clear the mind and heart. Winning? You've already won. Didn't you know? Thanks for sharing yourself with us. Smile.  Bob

Oh wow. I know these thoughts. I've tried to learn however, not to be so hard on myself. It's a process of learning, afterall. The best I can hope for is to do a little better each day.   Hugs, Sea!

Sometimes all you can do is keep talking SEA. And I agree with Serenity, don't be hard on yourself, there's no reason for you to feel guilt. Keep on writing, and talking to whoever you want to.

Dear SEA,

Lack of communication is the single greatest loss a couple can have.  It happens when one, or both, of us gets too comfortable in the relationship and we get lazy.  We forget the hugs, kisses, conversation, and the need to please.  That is, we do if we don't watch out for it.

Off my soapbox now    You may have inspired something here for me to write about, If I may have your permission.

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.

guilt can be productive when it opens our eyes to the reasons of why we are doing things that later make us feel guilty...
then we can try and fix the problem...
hopefully before we find ourselves repeating the pattern of action-guilt reaction...
or even worse....
eventually we stop feeling guilty......

Let It Rain
Kristen Hall

I have given, I have given
And got none
Still I'm driven by something I can't explain
It's not a cross, it is a choice
I cannot help but hear his voice
I only wish that I could listen without shame

Let it rain
Let it rain on me
Let it rain, oh let it rain
Let it rain on me

I have been a witness to the perfect crime
I wipe the grin off of my face to hide the blame
It isn't worth the tears you cry to have a perfect alibi
Now I'm beaten at the hands of my own game

It isn't easy to be kind
With all these demons in my mind
I only hope one day I'll be free
I do my best not to complain
My face is dirty from the strain
I only hope one day I'll come clean

Come take my hand
We can walk to the light
And without fear
We can see through the darkest night

Let it rain
Let it rain on me
Let it rain, oh let it rain
Let it rain on me

Though my soul may sit in darkness,
It will arise in perfect light.
For I have loved the stars too fondly ...
To be fearful of the night.

These words say that whatever guilt exists should be shared... talking to a wall just makes your throat dry. *S* Powerful poem, SEA... well done!

Though such storms may rage,
they can't endure.
I think all storms have pigment,
this one makes blood red
and the SEA blue.
Ride it out, you'll see.
It's worth it.
