I took up a caterpillar in my hands
And sheltered her from danger
Cupped my fingers about her fragile self
Afraid to show her to strangers
I breathed my breath into her life
And saw myself in her eyes
Yet, too distracted in my reverence
Her feelings for me went unrealized
It was enough to give her love
Enough it was for me
As long as I could hold her in warm hands
She was all I could see
And all I ever wanted for her
Was for her happiness to grow
To have all she ever wanted
And I, content in her shadow
Through time feeding on my affection
And I, marveling at the sight,
She changed before my very eyes
Became a butterfly, and took to flight

you will understand why I wont critique this very special poem...
and just quietly add it to my butterfly collection......

Though my soul may sit in darkness,
It will arise in perfect light.
For I have loved the stars too fondly ...
To be fearful of the night.

I thought this one would be about a bulldozer    Well done!
Nice imagery.

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.

Imagine how this makes a woman feel.
Loved, protected, nurtured...
nothing but wonderful feelings come from reading this...

May your dreams always dance to the rhythm of a lover's heartbeat...

Became a butterfly, and took flight

I'm not sure if this is more sad, selfish, unselfish or beautiful.
