Floundering,
Crashing waves,
Tides are everything.
Life abating,
Fading strength,
Seeping outwards,
Reaching heavenwards.
Empty husk,
Tossed and battered,
Bruised and torn,
Left to sink
To the depths below.
Forgotten dreams,
Empty loves,
All become
An endless azure,
Null and void,
Void,
Empty, dreary,
Solitary.
Gone,
Never to return.
Gone,
never to breathe.
Gone.

I've slowed down to my own pace, but like your words.

"I am not now that which I have been."
