Wherefore aging comes and I lie to awaiting death
I will look into the eyes of those
who trusted me-
those innocent grandchildren,
my own flesh and blood-
my children.
There, in my business of dying,
I will escape for one last masquerade
as I calmly match their gaze
and announce "No regrets!"

They, with their torched righteousness
and folded secrets in those lock boxes
ah, they believe their own demise will tarry
but I know.

I know I've fared well the cloak of secrecy,
every lie, every whisper, every soft touch
behind closed doors, ah, I completed this with
abounding cunning.

I fooled them all. They'll read the will,
divide my spoils and my bones
will rot as I lie cold in the ground.

While yet alive, I floated above my body,
looking down and I smiled viewing
the already dead corpse as I screamed to
the immobile decay of nothing,
before I left to envision my adventure
I touched the words to air and proclaimed:
"No regrets!"

For I had partaken in the good deed of loving
fully without compromise; they will
never read of it; it's burned to ashes, they
will not know.

Be gone! Do not weep for I read my horoscope
pre-dawn and the words ring true.
"No regrets."

But then, I -
am a liar.

This is quite a facsinating read ...
I enjoyed the cryptic...warning-like feel of it...
almost like a private diary entry....
Welcome to Passions Isabella...
nice to have you here...
I look forward to more of your work.

oh you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive

This was a very interesting piece of poetry...dark, yet so spiritually eloquent it was almost light...internal contradictions like that can be hard to achieve..

welcome to passions Isabella...

will be looking out for more work.
