A Tale Told By An Idiot
April 18th, 2001

I awoke one morning, my face to the sea
as I walked out the door, I could feel the breeze
the salt assaulted every last part of me
but that day I felt a new way to feel
I looked far out, along the horizon crease
and breathed in the seaweed, which made me sneeze
I held in my hand a shell or a piece
a remembered that day, whose hand I squeezed
deep in my heart, that strange ache released
fortunately for me it very soon ceased
the morning was purple and misty, I was pleased
and under my feet the wet sand wheezed
footprints pointed to where I had been
where was I going? well that was plain to see
I'd promised a walk along the beach to my niece
the only way out was to become deceased
perhaps by some accident or exotic disease
I laughed heartily and fell to my knees

just then an insane man ran up and stabbed me to death
