Ancestral winds begin to blow
listen close~ you will know,
learn the legends of the past
born of life~ bred to last.
White wolf howls in the night
nature dances~  into dawns light.

Waters running clear and pure
wounds to heal~ only time can cure.
Battles fought and never won
a proud  history~ will never be undone.
Sit in silence as the elders speak
we watched~ a nation growing weak.

The spirits walk with you and I
a warrior dead~ a woman cries.
Wild and free the eagle soars,
in the distance~ white man thunder roars.
A heritage standing proud and tall,
feel the presence~ hear the call.

A journey made into destiny
and our eyes~ do they now see?

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.
~Me~

Sunshine has said beautifully what I was thinking about this piece you've shared, Gentle Spirit.  It's wonderfully woven and gently said.

Sunshine, thank you.......for hearing, and for your kindness.  It was just something I felt like I had to write when the first few words came.  *s*

Vas, I appreciate those sentiments very much and am flattered by your words.

Songbird, thank you much for that.  *s*

to be with you...
I've tried to hide my passion,
but it's just no use...
piece by piece I lose it
when you walk into the room...

GentleSpirit~
When the spirit moves ~ she does so, gently~

This seems as though it flowed effortlessly from within you~
That is a gift to treasure and to share.

Quite spiritually Lovely.

Suthern, perhaps the winds did blow a bit today, or else my muse finally came to visit again.  lol.
Either way, thank you for such lovely comments.

Rosebud, feeling the peace within is what it's all about.  I was blessed to be able to put
the feeling into words.  Thank you.   *s*

Ah Sven, may those winds blow for us all.......always.  Thank you dear gentleman for
leaving your kind thoughts.

Thank you snowpants.  I was trying to create a certain type of feeling with this.  I am glad you
enjoyed it.

Oh Marge, believe me it wasn't effortless.  A few words came to me on my way to work
this a.m. and I couldn't wait for the drive to be over so I could put some thought into
it.  I wanted to share a feeling I so often have about such an incredible people.  Perhaps it
is just in the knowing that we are all truly one in spirit in so many ways.
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, I am always so timid about writing
in this form or on this subject.  Hugs.  *s*

This was very well written.  The spirit lives on, in all of us.

LW, may the spirit always live in us all.  *s*

JM, thank you so much for those words, and thank Mark also for me when time allows.  I have been an admirer of both of your writings and take it as a great compliment
that you both enjoyed.  Hugs.  *s*
