Healing Day

I long for violet cloverbed
in which to stray alone,
unmindful of the hours behind
or distant sounds from home.

One day, complete, to fall away
from battle's bitter thorns,
to lie near stream of watersong,
where thistlefire adorns.

At last to feel this sorrow lift,
late sun stroke auburn hair,
the sky as soft as underwing,
afloat and supple there.

And rest my head in satinshade
of twilight's purple sway,
with fingers full of feathercloud
on this, my healing day.

Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau

Thanks all, I've been a bit underweather and haven't been about much, but am enjoying reading so many nice poems here tonight. (o:

If I may say: this is quite good. I was sruck most with your second stanza. Of course the musical reference struck home.

Again you present the world with a touch of elegance. And if Clive Bell's theory of art is taken as a model then you have acieved that as well. Ok Time for Kendell to be quiet.
Will say only
