Taming the Beast
Virginia Salter

We have fun in the mornin’
and we spoon at night
We fill our days of yearnin’
with amorous delight
We smile and we giggle
for adventure we crave
We use up all our gusto
this side of the grave

When end of day comes
we rest with the best
We’ve done a lotta lovin’
and feathered our nest
We learned long ago
what soothes the soul
Keep your eye on the target
to attain your goal

Whisper ‘stead of shoutin’
to tame a wild beast
Plant the seeds of plenty
to enjoy a feast
Be not afraid
to live or die
Just keep the will for lovin’
in your heart’s mind’s eye.
