"Inexplicably drawn by endless depths
I left my invoiable refuge
to discover your concealed place
among paths least traveled..."

-R.T.

Darkness crept over frightened skies
forcing the last burning embers
of day beyond the borders

the battle was over

angry red streaks drained away
as night claimed it's rightful place
& stars peeked cautiously through
the turmoil

It was time

You called with painted voice
slowly unraveling the corners of sanity,
destroying my last vestige of peace

I should be afraid,
instead I am compelled
to acquiesce,
bring me to you...

Embarked on a torturous journey
where neither limbs nor vehicle are needed
the past thrashes about wildly with the present
in a struggle for lucidity,  where am I?

You know...

watching expressionlessly
while I writhe at your feet
in perfect agony
how long must I endure?

Finally, I arrive at the end
where you say words that tear me apart
Sadness permeates every avenue
until a soul shattering wail
circumferenced the world
waking the mourners from their
resting places...

Seized by desperation,
I beg for your arms, your love
yet despite the mutual need,
you hold fast your position
why?

your tears, like acid
leave deeply etched tattoos
across my skin
black marks in curious pattern
that claim me as your own
tho you leave me rejected...

The wailing continues
into blue time, when the day~
now rested, plans a sneak
attack against the night
the time when I'll ask
questions you curiously ignore

hatred or love?
why beckon?
free me?

Again, I'll awaken without you,
drenched in sweat,gasping for air
alone, in a place of your chosing

Again, They'll come to lock me away
scoffing at the meaning
of the wailing & the call
They'll plunge their opinions
into my viens untill I am
lost inside my mind
while day-timers shun me...

Please, don't forsake me, this time...

Night retreated
with venomous promises to return
the sun merely smiled,
whistling a merry tune
Here I lie,
in stark reality~
eyes wide shut...

will you be there?

-R.T.

Thanks for reading, Sunshine, I'd toyed with the idea of posting since early this morning, but finally decided to do so.

Tiersdin~
This is a deeply motivated piece of writing.

While you burrowed some deep tunnels,
you also exposed some ponderous thoughts.

I would hope for you that you found
a modicum of peace in the release of these feelings.

*Hugs*

Beautifully familiar feelings.
I loved your flowing method of expression.
A great piece of writing.

Bob,Marge, & Sven, thank you all for your kind comments. The poem more or less wrote itself and only has a vague reference to anything that has takn place in my life. The feelings behind it is quite real, I feel (as I'm sure you all do) what I write.

*hugs to all*
