Voices that You Know

it comes right into your head,
without a reason why,
Gable says “Frankly, my dear,”
and it almost starts a cry
or you could be working away
and out of pure thin air
Julie’s asking Christopher
“do we climb the alps, do we dare?”

and then a voice, unbidden,
whispers though body is out of view
when in your ear, a soft entreat
a somewhat fluid “I love you,”

then who does not hear, with suspense,
Jimmy’s scream, so intense,
when Hitchcock has him in suspended fall
stairs and Vertigo says it all,
or when Scarlett climbs ‘pon the hill
to lift her fist in twilight’s song
and vows to a God that seems not there
that somehow she shall get along

and then one voice, in ringing tones
calls and sparkles and causes delight
just one voice who asks in kind
if you made it through the night

when Rosalind is Mame, indeed
and Lucy yells for Ricky in need
who cannot control their laughter
oh yes, those voices remain far after,
then time goes on, new voices emerge
Redford gives the women an urge
Julia gives some men warm shivers
and for some spines Sean still quivers

but just one voice, warm and sweet
growing to husky, low and neat
and in one tone, says “you are mine”
ah, that voice, that one, entwines….

I can only imagine

Some movie looks - some outstretched hands - showing feelings, understandings, rapport---  say these three words in ways nothing else can - I love how you communicate.

Oh this made me remember Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn, but then again, it almost made me remember some with a low, husky voice too, so.....think I will go give him a call - he he.  I loved it!

Is it life, or is it art???
Interesting approach.
