Listening to every heart

Midwest Heart’s Request

storms
on the spin
forefront edge
creeping in
rumbling
thundering
along
crashing
daylight’s
song

anticipation
cultivated
by the
coming of
black and blue
edges
wedging in
thoughts
of others
safety

farmers
praying only
for enough

ranchers
needing a little
more, but
not all at once
please, God,

ponds need filling ~
did grass
get drilling?

did loved ones
give
a goodbye kiss
to loved ones
they might miss

if the lights
go out?

computers show
the gold/red glow
of floodings
yet to come

then nationwide
computers scope
the slight of rain
on either slope
of states

not fair!
not fair!
flooding seems
everywhere
states run
dry to dust
to naught

Rain, please!
spread the
gifts you’ve got!

this midwest
child/girl/gal
lady
sits ready
steady
still

waiting
in anticipation
of thunder’s
thrill

knowing
it will come
feeling the air
of spring hum
hearing the
churn of
the night
knowing that
drought was
only months gone by

feelings
that only
God
can make
right

come
the night

come
the night

she waits

thunder
will roll
and come
what may
feelings
will hole

tongues
will be
held

by some

oh yes,
the Midwest
heart…

goes on

Direct from the Heartland and the Lady's heart.

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.

I can certainly relate to this, being from the heartland myself and I sure wish you could send some our way to ease this drought. Floods and drought, living together side by side...that's the world.

And now
it is here
and the creeks
are rising...
folks in
fly-over land
understand.
Thank you, Sunshine

I lived in the midwest during the drought years.  I remember the prayers for rain.  Now here in the rainy Pacific Northwest where the raining is so easy, people are talking drought as the rain comes pouring down.  Go figure. I guess we are under for the year, but I remember DROUGHTS. Joyce
