Red Flaming Cold

the road is deep as it is wide
two may go down side by side
clear paths can be earned
yet some....are never learned
what makes a word the truth
evidence showing off the proof
necessary bread turns to dust
a silver lining fades and rust
the conjuring magic of time
slips and slides between hell and devine
taken in choices that we make
turned with only one promise break
shown again in the result
a red flaming cold insult

"a red flaming cold insult"

You HIT it again with a great last line.
This is a tough poem, Lady.
You do know how to write 'em.

1s_l,
This reads like experience talking ... I hope that experience is in your past.
Vivid poetry!
