~*~ The Winds of Change ~*~

Sitting here in solitude,
I am somehow surrounded in a new,
But very unfamiliar freshness.
With my heart cupped in my hands,
A choice is now made to trust, and
Ride the transparent waves of life.
I hear soft whispers of hope,
On the winds of change.
I hear laughter in the air,
Such a foreign sound.
I need to absorb this nourishment of
Heaven and earth in my unresting soul.
Slowly the cold winds that whistled through
My heart are turning to a warm spring rain.
My spirit has finally begun to grow wings,
To guide and fly me into my destiny.
I see the trees, birds, the earth,
Now all a part of my universe.
What once went unnoticed
Brings forth such peace,
And a quieting serenity to my soul.
Somehow a rebirth,
Just a child of this earth,
A perfect being like no other.
An unknown sadness rears its head,
As I release the familiar bondage.
I cry, over the loss of a feeling,
That was part of me for so long.
Mind's eye envisions me flying on,
Beautiful gossamer, cellophane wings,
Floating to that new place of peace.
I am hanging on for dear life,
But, my strength shall be my anchor,
My faith shall be my sail, and
I will ride in hope and trust
On the winds of change.

Sea ~* Thank you I wrote this as I was inspired by a poem Doreen did today to write what I was feeling a long time ago, and strangely again just recently.

Wonderfully written, Mysteria.  I love the hope that comes shining through in this piece.

When inspiration lifts your pen -
you write such a nice flowing piece~

'Mind's eye envisions me flying'

I sure like that thought !

Martha - glad to see you back and know you and your computer are once again a team! I can not wait to read something - go girl!

Marge - thank you, I think I have a moment once in awhile where that muse grabs me and won't let me get up off this chair, and this was one of them.

Interloper - boy, you sure know how to use those words don't you?  Thank you so much

Sunshine - thank you I don't know of any other way.

Doreen - NO...thank you! Your poem reminded me of my younger days as a struggling single parent, and that is the hardest job on earth.  Being a parent and still trying to find yourself in all that is frustrating, lonely, and tough...so hang on girl, it gets better~hugs~
