Wind Comes By
Virginia Salter

wind whips and rips
it shivers me timbers
as branches twist and turn
within its power

windsocks gyrate
as octopi in tsunami
dust flies
browning skies
looking like destruction

yet through the walls
between the rumbles
of shutters slapping
music lilts from
dancing wind chimes

semblance of joy, peace
mid cacophony
of wind’s power

then stillness
but for gentle flowing
of grasses, windsock tentacles,
flags saluting
wind’s ceasing

"dust flies

I can feel it!
Was that the wind that came through here at 80 per?  Well, maybe a cousin anyway.

And dances with the daffodils.          Wm Wordsworth  (I Wondered Lonely as a Cloud)
